The art examples below are by Dutch artist Ria Winters . Ria has drawn and painted since childhood in an atmosphere of landscapes and indigenous wildlife that have become the subjects of her work. Exploring the world is a significant part of her life. She has travelled to the United States, South Africa, Mexico, Kenya, Mauritius, the Arctic and throughout Europe. Her choice of subjects reflect the animals and scenery she has witnessed first hand, observed through the eyes of a naturalist, yet rendered with her expertise as a gifted artist. Having visited Africa several times, its wildlife has become one of her favorite subjects. Lately she has specialized in painting parrots. Africa is the home of several kind of parrots like the popular African Grey.
